JUDGING CRITERIA

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR Al LIST

 

BREED/NON-BREED SPECIALISTS

 

For persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award CCs in the breed and have completed their first appointment. To have the Support of The Akita Association.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR A2 LIST

 

BREED/NON-BREED SPECIALISTS

 

For persons who fulfill all the requirements for the #3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list and have the support of The Akita Association.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR A3 LIST

 

BREED SPECIALISTS

 

1.            Owned and exhibited Akitas for at least 8 years.

2.            Minimum of 7 years judging experience in Akitas and have the support of The Akita Association.

3.            To have judged at a breed club Open Show.

4.            To have judged Akitas at a minimum of 15 Open shows or Championship Shows without CCs with an adequate geographical spread.

5.            To have judged a minimum of 40 classes.

6.            To have judged a minimum of 120 dogs.

7.            To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures (KC policy as of 1.7.2001)

8.            To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement. (KC policy as of 1.7.2001)

9.            To have attended at least one breed specific (Akita) Judging Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable, organized by a KC registered Ak.ita Club, or a Utility Breeds Club. (KC policy as of 1.7.2001)

10.          To have bred or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their i~’ entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (Save in exceptional circumstances).

11.          To have stewarded over a minimum period of 3 years and 12 shows.

 

NON-BREED SPECIALISTS 

1.            Owned and exhibited their own breed for at least 8 years.

2.            Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to include 5 years in Akitas) and have the support of The Akita Association.

3.            To have judged a breed club open show.

4.            To have judged Akitas at a minimum of 15 Open Shows or Championship Shows without CC’s with an adequate geographical spread.

5.            To have judged a minimum of 50 Classes in this breed.

6.            To have judged a minimum of 150 dogs in this breed.

7.            To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed.

8.            To have attended at least one breed specific (Akita) Judging Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Cede of Best Practice and passes an examination and/or assessment where applicable organized by a KC registered Akita Club, or a Utility Breeds Club. Cont.

 

9.             To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they obtained their 1st entry in The Kennel Club Stub Book. (Save in exceptional circumstances).

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR B LIST

 

BREED SPECIALISTS

 

1.             To have 5 years experience owning and exhibiting in this breed and have the support of The Akita Association.

2.             Judged Akitas for at least 3 years.

3.             To have Judged Akitas at a minimum of 4 shows with at least 15 classes at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs.

4.             To have judged a minimum of 50 dogs of this breed.

5.             To have attended at least one breed specific (Akita) Judging Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passes an examination and/or assessment where applicable organized by a KC registered Akita Club, or a Utility Breeds Club.

6.             To have stewarded at Open Show level unless already awarding CCs in another breed.

 

NON-BREED SPECIALISTS

 

1.             Minimum of 5 years owning and exhibiting their own breeds.

2.             Minimum of 3 years judging in any one breed and have the support of The Akita Association.

3.             To have judged a minimum of 8 shows and 20 classes in this breed at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs. Save in exceptional circumstances.

4.             To have judged a minimum of 75 dogs of this breed.

5.             To have attended at least one breed specific (Akita) Judging Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passes an examination and/or assessment where applicable organized by a KC registered Akita Club, or a Utility Breeds Club.

6.             To have stewarded at Open Show level unless already awarding CCs in another breed..

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR C LIST

 

BREED SPECIALISTS

 

For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the support of The

Akita Association

1.            Owned and exhibited Akitas for at least 3 years.

2.             Must have attended an Akita Judging Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable organized by a KC Registered Akita Club, or a Utility Breeds Club.

3.             It is a minimum requirement that Breed Specialists must have stewarded at Open Show level, unless already awarding CCs in another breed.

 

NON-BREED SPECIALISTS

 

For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the support of 

The Akita Association

 

1.             Owned and exhibited their own breed for at least 5 years.

2.          Must have attended an Akita Judging Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passes an examination and/or assessment where applicable  organized by a KC registered Akita Club, or a Utility Breeds Club.

3.             Must have judged their own breed for at least 3 years.

4.             It is a minimum requirement that Non-Breed Specialists must have stewarded at Open Show level, unless already awarding CCs in another breed.
